North Gallery is a way to keep the painting legacy of my father, William North, out in the world. After a fulfilling life working for others, he longed to be a fine art painter in retirement. For twenty years he lived his dream in southwest Florida producing more than 500 paintings in oil. I am grateful to be able to offer printed reproductions of some of those paintings here.
As for me, his first-born daughter, I was a child in the 1950’s, a youth in the 60’s, a teen in the 70’s, and a wife, mother and wage earner in the 80’s and 90’s. All the while I, too, longed for the time to be more creative with the arts. As I enter my 70th year, I’m energized to spend most of my time reading, learning and creating--inspired by my father.
